Nope! Undress to your comfort level. While skin on skin contact is preferable to be most effective, the treatment is about you and your comfort. Your therapist will explain to you and obtain consent for the areas that are to be treated. They will only un-drape the areas of consent. You can withdraw your consent at ANY time during treatment.
Do I have to completely get undressed for my massage?
Is massage indicated for children?
Absolutely! Anyone from infancy to advanced age can benefit from massage. A treatment is tailored to each individual. Naturally, a massage for a 250 pounds, male athlete is different from a massage for an eight year old child. Parents are welcome to stay in the room. Consent is always requested, and can be withdrawn at any time during treatment. Whether a child or adult is being treated, you must always feel safe during your treatment.
No. As your healthcare practitioner, it is our duty as RMTs to provide a proper assessment before your massage. This enables us to provide you with a safe and effective treatment. Time at the end of your appointment is set aside to discuss home-care, such as a stretch and/or strengthening, or any other indicated self-care tools. If you would like more time for massage treatment, we suggest booking a longer appointment.
